In order to sponsor any dependent children, the Sponsor is required to be 18 years of age, a Canadian permanent resident living in Canada or a Canadian citizen and the sponsor cannot have had any criminal record, been in a process of bankruptcy or under a removal order.
If the main sponsor chooses to sponsor a spouse or partner, any dependent children should be listed on their application forms. In case the sponsor is sponsoring one or more dependent children as the main applicant, a complete set of application forms and documents for each child must be submitted.
Dependent child is considered under 22 years and without a spouse or a common law partner. In case the child is above 22 years of age and carries a mental or physical condition he will be considered as dependent.
